Ausure accelerates national growth with major expansion of Authorised Representative network

Ausure has reached a significant milestone in its national growth strategy, welcoming 138 new Authorised Representatives into its network in just 4 months following the transition of businesses from the former Resilium Insurance Broking and PSC Connect networks. The expansion represents one of the largest periods of growth in Ausure’s history and significantly strengthens the group’s presence across Australia.

A Stronger Network Built on Shared Values

The transition follows the announcement in April that Steadfast Group would acquire the Resilium and PSC Connect Authorised Representative networks from Envest, with the businesses subsequently joining Ausure. Ausure CEO Scott McCarthy said the expansion represented an important step in the evolution of the business while reinforcing the importance of maintaining the culture and relationships that have underpinned Ausure’s growth.

“Whilst the addition of the Resilium and PSC Connect networks has been a significant milestone in Ausure’s story and given us even greater size and scale it is not what we are focusing on. Our focus is preserving the family culture that has been at the heart of Ausure since it’s commencement in country some NSW 30 years ago.

There is no question that as a business gets larger it needs to have more governance, more processes, become more efficient etc but maintaining your connection to where you began is critical, otherwise you’re ‘just a business’. We welcome all of the businesses and people who have joined us and sincerely thank them for working with us through the transition over the last few months.”

For Ausure, the expansion is about more than increasing the number of businesses operating within the network. The addition of the former Resilium and PSC Connect businesses has further diversified Ausure’s national footprint, bringing together brokerage businesses of different sizes, specialties and regional markets while increasing the collective experience, capability and opportunities available across the wider network. Importantly, Ausure’s growth strategy remains centred on enabling individual brokerage businesses to retain their own identity, client relationships and local market presence while gaining access to the resources, systems and support capability of a much larger national network.

Delivering a major transition at scale

Onboarding 138 new ARs in a few months represented a significant undertaking for the Ausure team, requiring coordinated support across relationship management, compliance, technology, broking operations, finance, claims, marketing, training and other support functions. The focus was not simply on transferring businesses into the network, but on ensuring ARs had the systems, knowledge, contacts and ongoing support required to operate confidently from the outset.

Reflecting on her experience joining the network, Samantha Bridger, Principal of All Solutions Insurance Services, shared that

“The onboarding process was extremely smooth, and I was very impressed with the responsiveness of the Ausure support team and the practical solutions they provided.”

That experience was echoed by Casey Caldera, Director & Principal Broker of CPC Insurance Services, who reflected on how the level of preparation and support helped make a significant business change more manageable, stating that

“The communication throughout the process has been excellent, and the level of support provided has made what could have been a very challenging change feel very smooth and well organised.”

Casey also highlighted the training and accessibility of Ausure teams as an important part of preparing incoming brokers for the transition, noting that the systems training had been thorough, practical and easy to implement within the business. That preparation was a key priority for Ausure as it worked to bring a significant number of new businesses into the network within a relatively short period.

Veronica Kypros, Director of Ceneta Insurance Services, similarly highlighted the value of having a structured pathway through the transition, sharing that

“The checklist was excellent – a step-by-step guide in chronological order, with links to all the right web pages and forms. It was absolutely brilliant and made a complex process much easier.”

Veronica also reflected on the importance of the training provided ahead of the transition, particularly around Ausure’s Insight broking platform, adding that

“We all seem to have got the hang of Insight pretty quickly, and the training was pivotal to that. Knowing that there is always someone in the background to help with an unfamiliar transaction is very comforting.”

Growing the network – and the support behind it

The expansion of Ausure’s AR network has been accompanied by continued investment in the people and infrastructure supporting it. As the network grows, Ausure is focused on ensuring its service capability grows alongside it, giving ARs access not only to dedicated relationship management but also to specialists across the broader business.

A key part of that investment has been the continued development of Ausure’s Relationship Management Department, strengthening the direct connection between AR businesses and Ausure leadership. The national relationship management function is led by Adam Sloan, General Manager of Business Development, and Graeme Lilley, General Manager of Distribution, who oversee strategic development, growth and network relationships across Australia.

Supporting them is a growing team of state-based Business Managers who act as dedicated partners to AR businesses and provide a direct connection into the wider Ausure organisation. For Victoria, South Australia – including Broken Hill – and the Northern Territory, the network is led by Graeme Lilley and supported by Gaye Legudi, State Business Manager, and Dan Gannon, State Business Manager. For Queensland, New South Wales, ACT, Tasmania and Western Australia, the network is led by Adam Sloan and supported by Ashley Versteegen, State Business Manager, and Mary-Ann Najdi, State Business Manager.

The Business Managers work directly with practice principals across areas including business growth, operational efficiency, systems transitions, acquisition opportunities, pipeline development and broader business planning. Their role also provides AR businesses with a direct voice into Ausure, helping ensure the organisation’s support model continues to evolve alongside the size and geographic reach of the network.

The accessibility of that support was a standout throughout the transition for Megan Spiniello, Principal & General Manager of SSAA General Insurance Brokers, who shared that

“Ausure have been nothing short of informative, available and organised in managing our transition from the Envest Network. At no point have we felt alone, or stupid for asking questions or forgetting how to do something.”

That personal connection is particularly important to Ausure as the organisation continues to grow, with the expansion of its network matched by investment in the people available to work directly with AR businesses.

Scale backed by specialist support

The growth of Ausure’s national network also gives ARs access to a broader range of specialist expertise across the organisation. Incoming businesses have been able to draw on support across claims, compliance, technology, finance, systems and broking operations, providing additional resources when complex or unfamiliar situations arise.

Reflecting on her first experiences within the wider network, Veronica Kypros stated,

“I feel incredibly well supported by all departments I have had interactions with.”

That support has included direct assistance from Ausure’s claims and compliance teams, as well as technology and operational support through Ausure’s centralised ticketing systems. What has particularly stood out, Veronica explained, is the practical nature of the support available across the network, sharing that

“I’ve been surprised that the help is not just of an advisory nature – these people actually step in to help.”

That approach reflects a broader objective behind Ausure’s investment in its support teams: ensuring ARs can access specialist expertise when they need it while continuing to focus on running, servicing and growing their own businesses.

National scale without losing the personal connection

Ausure has grown significantly since its beginnings in 1996, developing into a major national insurance broking and Authorised Representative network. The addition of the former Resilium and PSC Connect businesses represents another significant step in that growth, expanding Ausure’s geographic reach, collective expertise and presence in the Australian broking market.

That scale gives Ausure businesses access to established insurer relationships, Steadfast Group backing, integrated systems and specialist resources across broking, claims, compliance, finance, technology, marketing, business development and operations. However, Ausure continues to place considerable importance on maintaining the family-based values and relationship-led approach that have traditionally shaped the organisation.

The model is built around supporting the individual brokerage rather than requiring every business to operate in exactly the same way. For ARs, that means being able to draw on the capability of a large national group while retaining the relationships, local knowledge and independence that have helped build their own businesses.

Early feedback from the newest members of the network indicates that this balance has remained evident despite the scale and speed of the expansion. Casey Caldera reflected on the reassurance created by having specialist support readily accessible, sharing that

“The accessibility and responsiveness of staff across the various support areas have been a great help.” She added that “having knowledgeable people readily available, combined with the support case systems in place, has provided confidence that assistance is there when needed and that queries are being managed effectively.”

With 251 now operating within the broader Ausure network, the group enters its next stage of growth with an expanded national footprint, greater collective capability and increased investment in the people responsible for supporting its AR businesses. The successful onboarding also demonstrates the infrastructure now in place to support Ausure’s continued expansion while maintaining the accessibility and personal relationships that have traditionally differentiated the network.
