Ausure Camping Trip Wrap-up for 2023!
What defines a successful event nowadays? Is it when attendance doubles year on year? When everyone (adults and kids!) are already planning for next years attendance? Is it seeing everyone sing in unison to ‘Ice Ice Baby’ after nightfall?’ – or is it simply, everyone leaving with a huge smile on their face… Well, whether it’s one or the other – the Ausure Camping Trip seemed to tick all of the above!
Another camping trip, done and dusted. New friendships and connections made and enough memories to last a lifetime. 185 brokers, Ausure staff, insurers, premium funders and their families gathered at the Canungra Showgrounds over the weekend.
We call it ‘camping’, but perhaps ‘glamping’ is more appropriate, with majority of attendees opting to base themselves in a caravan for the 4 day extravaganza.
While historically the event was largely attended by local brokers and insurers, the 2023 camping event drew crowds from far and wide – with many flying or road tripping in from all over the country, families (and furbabies) in tow.
Madi Ward from CGU who attended with his partner and their (very cute) baby, shared:
The Ausure Camping Trip, undoubtedly would not be possible without the support of our sponsors – all 20 of them this year! It’s their ongoing partnership with Ausure and commitment to supporting the camping trip which makes the event so memorable.
First time attendees will often admit their apprehension about camping – but by the end of the long weekend, they are asking how they can register for the next one and how many more people they can bring. Jo Gamble who represented Chubb, one of Ausure’s newest Key Partners was no different.
Why is everyone talking about the Camping Trip?
Each year as the Ausure Camping Trip continues to grow, so does the endless list of activities! For those attending – everything is covered – from food and drinks, to entertainment, games and activities for the kids.
Games for all ages!
This year, we extended the games to include adults! From apple ducking, whipped cream comp, speed races and limbo, all the way through to wheelbarrow races and tug of war – there was something for everyone!
Thanks to our sponsors, our weekend was packed full of fun activities from start to finish. From an inflatable Waterslide, an Ice Cream Van, and an Outdoor Cinema for the kids right through to entertainment and trivia comps. There was never a dull moment in the Ausure camp…
Food and Drinks for all!
From start to finish, our tummies were full and a drink was in hand. There was even wine tasting thanks to Troy and Graeme! Whatever your taste, Ausure and our sponsors had it sorted all weekend. Most importantly, we ensured kids were adequately energised at all times thanks to Scott’s Milkshake Bar, Fairy Floss and Popcorn Machines and lollies (much to parents dismay).
What our Sponsors had to say:
“Obviously, there is an extraordinary amount of work that goes in behind the scenes (and continues across the weekend), which you are all to be commended for. This is now one of my favourite events. Having the opportunity to connect with your reps, and the Head Office team, while enjoying the outdoors in a relaxed environment, was such a nice change. You felt less like you were spruiking your wares, and more like you were building lasting relationships. We are privileged to work in an industry that at its core, is a community service, and can do really good things. This weekend felt like we were all on the same team, with the same goal. Thank you for that reminder.”

We love being involved in the Ausure Camping event every year – friends, family, fun, sun and a few glasses of our favourite beverage and great discussions around the fire. It is so amazing to include the family in the event – the kids feel part of the work we do, but perhaps think that is the fun we are having all the time when we say we are at work! The ATL Orange Gin Bar is a great way to engage and connect with people and thank you to all the Ausure people who made the time to have a chat and connect at the bar.
Nick Evans, ATL
Being a part of the Ausure camping trip is always an amazing experience, and the family-friendly setting truly sets it apart from other industry event. At Emergence, we’re all about ‘moving the family forward’ emphasizing that we’re a close-knit family with families of our own. That’s why we love the opportunity to reconnect a personal setting, and unwind after the challenges of the year. And of course, we made sure to keep the Ausure camp refreshed and united at our trusty Emergence Rehydration Station during all the fun activities!

What a pleasure to be a proud sponsor of the annual Ausure “camp-vention”. Another weekend, long-weekend for some, socialising in a relaxed family environment enjoying the company of the Ausure team, brokers & fellow sponsors. The food, drinks & entertainment keeps getting better year on year. Thank you Team Ausure for an excellent event, Lion Underwriting will be back next year!

SafetyCulture Care loved being a part of this great event and spending time with the Ausure team and their families. The camping trip is a truly unique event that brings insurer’s, brokers and the most important element – family together to share a fantastic experience and further solidify our already strong relationship. Well done to Mick and the team at Ausure for a great weekend.
Damien Cullen, Safety Culture Care
I would like to say thank you to Ausure for putting this event on. It was terrific to meet for the first time, so many people that Allstate have been dealing with for a very long time. The Ausure and Allstate relationship goes back to day dot and Ausure remains a major provider of support to Allstate. We really do treasure this relationship as something special from the past and integral to the creation of our more diversified future. I really enjoyed the relaxed nature of the weekend and the hospitality that was provided.. It was our pleasure to sponsor the coffee van!
