Ausure welcomes back DBK Insurance Solutions
DBK Insurance Solutions has chosen to return as an Authorised Representative of Ausure after 6 years. Ausure is excited to be working with DBK Insurance Solutions again, knowing the level of knowledge and quality service DBK provides their clients.
Lesley Bownds, Principal of DBK Insurance Solutions, has over 40 years of experience, providing a wealth of knowledge to her team and her clients. Lesley has been the driving force of DBK Insurance Solutions since its commencement.
A word from Lesley Bownds
Lesley shared, “DBK was formed in 2011 when I purchased the General Insurance Agency from my former employer Dawson & Batters, who operated a joint AMP Financial Planning and General Insurance Practice; at that time, Dawson and Batters were also Authorised Representatives of AFM Insurance Brokers who later merged with Ausure..
“The purchase of the business came about following the retirement of one of the partners, Craig Hyland, who had managed the General Insurance side of the business and also mentored me as a General Insurance Adviser. After I had spent my first 30 years working predominantly in the Life/Financial Planning industry,” Lesley continued.“
Over the last 13 years, Lesley and her team have gone from strength to strength, with Lesley stating, “We first started with three full-time Authorised Representatives (AR), with Di Ryan still working in the business and managing our domestic portfolio. We have doubled in size after purchasing additional books of business from retiring ARs, and now have six ARs and an Administration Assistant. I have been blessed to have found truly wonderful staff, and we are a little different to the run-of-the-mill general insurance practice, being an all-female office.”

When asked about the transition back to the Ausure network, Lesley shared, “We are happy to be returning to Ausure just over 6 years after leaving in 2018; The circumstances around us leaving were somewhat beyond our control so we are really pleased to return to Ausure as the way they do business and their people are a great fit for our business. The fact we are able to continue to access Steadfast systems and products with a relatively seamless changeover made the decision even easier.
