Ausure’s 2025 Underwriting Agency Of The Year Winner NTI
The Ausure 2025 Conference brought together over 300 brokers, sponsors and industry specialists to engage and rise up to the potential and opportunities that the Insurance industry faces over the next 12 months.
The Gala Dinner, sponsored by NTI and held on Tuesday, the 25th of February, closed the three-day event by highlighting insurance leaders who have shown growth, resilience and exceptional service and care to their clients and our network.
A Testament to Strong Partnerships
One of those exceptional organisations is NTI, who were awarded Ausure’s Underwriting Agency Of The Year award for 2025, showing extraordinary service over the past 12 months.
We reached out to Jay Hani, National Operations Manager – Commercial at NTI, who has had a long-standing relationship with Ausure and its ARs and has seen how our two organisations have thrived together over the past few years.
Jay Shared, “As I mentioned at the conference, a lot of things these days are made harder than they need to be. The feedback from my team is that working with Ausure is easy, and everyone just wants to do the right thing. Winning ‘Underwriting Agency of the Year’ for the second time running really does mean a lot to everyone at NTI. It’s validating for everyone that puts in effort every day to know that those feelings as key partners is reciprocated. Thank you all again!”
“The culture at Ausure is very similar to NTI. Your whole network ‘keep it simple’ – look after your people and look after your clients. There aren’t levels of bureaucracy that get in the way of getting the job done right.”
When asked what he sees sets NTI apart in terms of customer service and benefits to our Ausure network, Jay continued, “As a specialist, we have the ability to invest heavily in our lines of business. We make sure that we have experts and the technology to support them.
“The thing that really sets us apart is that we are consistent in how we deliver to our broker partners and to our clients. If you place a policy with NTI, you know you can rely on us to do what we’re meant to do. I think that kind of dependability is getting harder to find, and it’s certainly contributed to our growth over the years.”
NTI Recognised for Excellence, Relationships, and Innovation
Mick O’Bree, General Manager of Operations and Underwriting at Ausure, presented NTI with the award on the night, chosen by his peers, as he has had an ongoing relationship with NTI for a number of years and works closely with them and our ARs.
Mick shared, “I was very pleased to present Underwriting Agency of the Year to Jay Hani from NTI. The last 5-8 years have felt like the ‘age of underwriters’ with many more brokers choosing to place their valued clients there. So, with such a large list of quality underwriting businesses in the market now, it really reflects where NTI is at, with their level of engagement across our network, combined with quality of products, superior claims service and just the general approach of wanting to help our reps and our clients.”
Jay agreed, highlighting the importance of maintaining those relationships, sharing, “Our decision makers are all out in the market; That is at broker meetings, conferences as well as industry events across the country. Hearing feedback direct from the people that rely on our products to keep their business moving ensures we keep evolving to meet their needs.”
Along with building and maintaining those relationships, NTI has backed this with products to be proud of; “Parcel Protect is definitely something that we are proud to have developed. As a major marine insurer, we see a shift in the industry to keep excessing out smaller claims. That works for some customers, but the changing landscape of online retail means that for many customers, they are dealing with huge volumes of small claims that are not supported by an insurance product. Having a solution for those businesses is making a real difference.”
“I see a lot of focus on reviewing products that the client already has in place. It is definitely harder to introduce a new product to customers as many people see insurance as a necessary evil or as a commodity. That all changes when they have a claim. The real opportunity is to be the expert that sees what other brokers missed and really make sure the client has everything that they need in the event of an incident,” Jay said.
What next for 2025?
When asked what NTI’s focus area for the next 12 months when it comes to the Ausure/NTI Key Partner relationship will be, Jay continued, “We are very fortunate to have such a great working relationship with Ausure ARs and offices around Australia. Maintaining our levels of service and being your go-to for heavy motor, MPE and marine is the key focus, as well as working with you on new opportunities such as Parcel Protect.”
We would like to say congratulations to Ausure’s 2025 Underwriting Agency Of The Year finalists, Market Lane Group & SafetyCulture Care.
