Ausure’s Joanna King Selected for Hollard Aspire Women Leaders Program
Joanna King, who leads the Ausure Strategic in Tasmania alongside David Reid, recently took part in the Hollard Aspire Women Leaders program, having been been selected earlier in the year. The national initiative by Hollard, is designed to recognise and develop the next generation of female leaders in insurance.
The year-long program is designed for women in the insurance industry who aspire to step into senior leadership roles. Out of more than 60 applicants from across Australia, only 26 were chosen — and Jo achieved a high ranking in Hollard’s selection process. “I’m excited to have been chosen for this opportunity. Representing Ausure and being able to share what I learn within the Ausure group is an honour” Jo shared.
About the Program
The Aspire Women Leaders Program is tailored for women working within insurance brokerages who are already in, or are on the path toward, senior leadership.
Participants are typically:
- Women in director, principal, or senior leadership positions
- Aspiring executives within the Steadfast network
- Experienced professionals with around 10 years in the industry
- Committed to attending six intensive development sessions and completing supporting assignments over the 12-month program
The program brings together talented women from across Australia, creating a strong network of future leaders. It’s a program with an excellent reputation — previous participants include Ausure CFO, Ellie Laidlaw.
Championing Women in Insurance
Jo is also passionate about helping women build careers and confidence in the insurance industry. This past September, she helped launch Women in Insurance Tasmania, alongside her fellow Committee members and supported by our Ausure Strategic Team. With more than 100 professionals in attendance, the event was a resounding success – filled with energy, connection, and collaboration. It was a true reflection of the strength and spirit within our community and a cause that Jo is proud to champion.
“We’re incredibly proud of Jo and delighted to see her selected for such a prestigious program,” said Scott McCarthy, CEO of Ausure. “She’s a true professional who lives our Ausure values, and we know she’ll make the most of this opportunity while inspiring others in our group.”
