Official Wrap Up: Ausure South Africa Convention

The Ausure Convention in South Africa has officially wrapped up, and what a trip it was! The 10-day convention saw over 100 Ausure Brokers, Staff and Insurers connect and network over unforgettable experiences, and participate in industry relevant presentations and education pieces by Ausure and our Gold Sponsors – Arteva, Safety Culture and NTI.

Ausure CEO, Scott McCarthy, decided early on that this event would be the perfect opportunity to thank Ausure’s long standing staff members, who had been with the company for more than 10 years. 25 staff in total, were invited to attend the once-in-a-lifetime experience in South Africa. “Whilst Conferences, particularly overseas ones usually only allow for Senior Managers and Exec Staff to attend, I wanted to show our appreciation to staff that have been with us for the long term, often working in the background – but just as vital to the business as anyone else in more senior roles. I was excited to bring with us a large number of staff that may not normally have the opportunity to attend events such as these, and enjoyed being able to share some unforgettable experiences with them.”

The trip officially kicked off at the Ivory Tree Lodge, located in Pilanesberg National Park. Guests were able to experience 5 game drives, held in the mornings and at sunset – through the national park by a guided ranger who shared their knowledge and experiences with the majestic animals along the way.

A highlight was the ‘Magical Bush Dinner’’, sponsored by NTI. Delegates were driven to a remote spot in the open national park. Under candlelight, surrounded by bonfires and armed guards – people drank, ate and laughed the night away.

Whilst the entire convention was filled with an array of networking opportunities, sharing of ideas and ways to improve or implement new initiatives – the Convention featured insightful presentations from Head Office Management and Gold Sponsors, Arteva, NTI and Safety Culture. Scott McCarthy, CEO of Ausure provided an update on the Company’s Strategy and focus areas for the next 12 months, discussing key projects for 2024 and how these would benefit Ausure branches and their staff.

Jay Hani, National Operations Manager of NTI discussed the business’s ongoing dedication to the Logistics Industry in Australia and provided education around NTI’s 3 areas of specialty – Transport Insurance, Yellow Cover and Marine Protect. Jay also covered NTI’s Claims processes and the business’s 2024 objectives.

Daniel Gronert of Arteva Funding provided an Economic Update and insights into how this affects the insurance industry and premium funders in particular. Daniel also educated brokers on Arteva’s service delivery framework and how the business has and is continuing to implement new initiatives and processes to ensure quality service to brokers and clients.

Damien Cullen, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Safety Culture explained to delegates how Safety Culture is changing the insurance landscape by using data and insights to provide risk solutions and insurance to Australian Businesses, allowing them to run a better, safer business.

Darren Free, Claims of Ausure discussed his learnings from the year to date, including an update on industry claims service levels and issues relating to phishing scams resulting in claim settlements being directed into cyber criminals’ bank accounts.

The presentations provided delegates with plenty to ponder, with many discussing their new learnings and sharing their opinions on the topics covered with others in attendance.

Next on the Convention itinerary was Table Bay Hotel, located in Cape Town. That night, guests were invited to dinner at the Grand Beach Cafe, sponsored by Arteva Funding. The following night delegates were treated to drinks and dinner at the fancy side of town – Camps Bay, sponsored by Safety Culture.

On the final night of the convention, dinner was held at the Harbour House Victoria Waterfront Restaurant. People, some of whom once were strangers, now connected through unforgettable experiences and moments they will cherish for a lifetime, chatted eagerly sharing stories and pictures of what they had encountered that day.

As tradition directs, Graeme Lilley announced what people had been eagerly discussing throughout the trip. Where will the next Ausure Conference be? After thanking our sponsors – Arteva, SafetyCulture Care, NTI, Point, Allstate, Emergence, Protecsure, Attvest, FTA and All Parks Insurance – Graeme announced “The next Ausure Conference will be held on the Gold Coast, in Tropical Queensland, Australia.”

So there it is… another successful, unforgettable Ausure Convention done and dusted! Some say it’s the best one we’ve had yet. The event, which wouldn’t have been possible without our fantastic sponsors – gave 100+ delegates the opportunity to experience not only some of the world’s most beautiful places in the world – but also connected sponsors, Ausure Head Office Staff and Brokers on a more meaningful level, building long-lasting connections, and even life long friendships.

Now, let the countdown begin for Ausure Conference 2025….
