The Ausure Camping Trip 2022 is anticipated to be the biggest and best one yet!
Our annual Ausure Camping Trip isn’t far away – taking place on the first weekend of November at the Canungra Showgrounds in the Gold Coast Hinterlands. With over 100 brokers, insurers, head office staff and their families registered, it will be the biggest one yet and is guaranteed to be a showstopper.
Mick O’Bree, our GM of Underwriting and Operations, is an avid camper who spends much of his ‘downtime’ with his son, Fin, campervanning in his favourite spots around Queensland. In 2020, during the height of COVID, he first decided to hold an Ausure Camping Trip for QLD-based AR’s, senior management and insurers. Last year attendance doubled, and this year – with COVID restrictions scrapped, Mick extended the invitation out to all of our brokerages, insurers and Ausure management staff.
“Ausure are really pleased to provide something a bit different to our reps, insurers and funders. In 2020 it was hard to catch up with people like we did before, so when the restrictions eased a bit, we decided to take our brokers camping. I was blown away when 30 people said they would brave the “new world” and start interacting with people again! We had sponsorship which made the weekend an absolute hit, with a professional lamb spit roaster (Attvest Funding), all beer, wine & South African meats provided (Lion Underwrriting) and a Gin bar (ATL Insurance). People must have had FOMO, as the next year we had 60 people. This year we’ll have about 120 in attendance. It’s a genuine family experience, with kids & partners encouraged. Each year we step up our game and this year is no exception. We will have plenty of activities for the 30 odd kids...plus a few more relaxing activities for the bigger kids. It’s definitely not a normal insurance getaway. We have no content or training but rather a weekend of relationships & networking. AKA music always on, a few beers during the day and some less the than true tales told around a fire. Then wake up and repeat....“

The Ausure Camping Trip is a fantastic opportunity for the entire group to get together, connect and have some fun without ‘talking work’. It allows everyone to get to know each other, as well as the Ausure Head office staff who brokers liase with on a day-to-day basis without the formality of a conference or networking meetings.
Ausure is very much still run like a ‘family business’ in many ways – and the camping trip highlights the importance we place on having close working relationships with our offices and insurers.
