Don't Get Caught Out - Payment Scams

In 2023, Australians lost more than $2 billion to scams, and this number is predicted to increase. Unfortunately, email scams, particularly fake invoices, have become all too common. Ausure wanted to highlight the importance of maintaining awareness of these types of scams and provide some tips you can share on how payment scams can be avoided in future. As the saying goes, prevention is better than a cure.

How To Spot A Fake Ausure Invoice

It can happen to anyone at any time, so Ausure has provided a list of key features which should be reviewed before making any payments:

We might think we’re getting quite savvy with detecting fake emails and texts, but you can never be too careful.

Many businesses have their accountants or admins processing their invoices. If your team have not yet encountered an Ausure invoice before, or it has been some time since they have processed an Ausure invoice, it would be beneficial to educate them on what payment options we include and what to look out for before proceeding with the payment. If you ever receive an email from your Broker where you are unsure and are worried that the invoice does not look quite right, please do not hesitate to reach out to your Ausure Broker for advice.
